New Year Starts Off With Pelletier Talk

Coming To The LaBelle Heritage Museum In January
LABELLE, FL. -- Hendry County Property Appraiser Phillip Pelletier will be the guest speaker at the Thursday, January 3, program meeting of LaBelle Heritage Museum at LaBelle City Hall, 481 W Hickpochee Avenue, starting at 7 p.m.

Pelletier will relate how he fell in love with the LaBelle area when he first came here some thirty-five years ago and decided this would be home. He will comment on the changes he has seen since coming to LaBelle and what he sees in the future for LaBelle and its surroundings. The meeting is open to all, and our winter residents are welcome.

LaBelle Heritage Museum at 360 North Bridge Street will be closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day as well as on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day but will open for its regular hours on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday both Christmas week and New Year's week.

Regular hours will resume on January 7, 2013.

The museum has a new display prepared by local historian and former LaBelle Postmaster Bernard T. Rasmussen highlighting post offices in the LaBelle area including several in Glades and Lee Counties. The museum also has the late Ken Downing's pen and ink notecards of the Hendry County Court House and the 1914 Captain F. A. Hendry House available in the gift shop.
